If you have the time, could you write to me and let me know how long it took you to learn cake decorating? Is it difficult? The reason I ask is because my parent's 50th anniversary is coming up and I would love to make them a tiered cake.
I will be taking a beginner's course in May...Wilton method and will have time to take the other courses (hopefully!
You can reach me at canookie@gmail.com
Thank you in advance
I Didn't Really Start Making Them Until I Volunteered To Make A Friends Two Tier Wedding Cake It Was 25.11.1995 ... It Was A Nightmare ... For Me But They Loved It ... I Had Never Made Plastic Icing & Was Too stubborn To Buy It Ready Made ... & Had Never Made Sugar Paste Flowers Before ... But Some How We Got It To The Wedding ... I Had Months Notice But We Had So Many Dramas That We Ended Up Missing Half Of The Ceremony ... & Only Just Had It Set Up At The Reception As The Bride & Groom Came In ...
The Only Instruction I Had Was The First Couple Of Books Out Of A Cake Decorating Series That Ended Up Being Over 100 Books ... I Stopped Getting Them At Number 11 ...
It Definitely Would've Been Easier If I Had Done Some Sort Of Course ... Would've Saved A Lot Of Mistakes ... Like Powder Glucose & Liquid Glucose Are TOTALLY Different ... You Can't Just Add Water !!! Hence My First Plastic Icing Failure ...
If You Have Time Trial , Error & Practice Are More Fun ... & Most Of My Ideas & Recipes Are Original Rather Than Just Copied ... I Probably Ended Up In The Same Place But I've Always Just Taught Myself Anything I Wanted To Do ... Cheers Mark
